TWO cars were involved in a crash at the Duke's Head Roundabout in Copthorne yesterday (Thursday).Shortly after 6pm last night, emergency services were called to the collision at the junction of the A264 Copthorne Common Road and the B2028 Turners Hill Road at the Duke's Head roundabout, Copthorne.The vehicles involved were a silver Ford Ka, driven by a 27-year-old woman from Crawley Down and a black Volkswagen Golf, driven by a 64-year-old man from Horley.The crash left the Ford Ka on its side....

THE man killed after his car hit a tree in Copthorne died just three hours after Worth Parish Council met to discuss concerns about road safety in the village.
Emergency services were called to Copthorne Bank, between Clay Hall Lane and Antlands Lane, at about 10.30pm on Monday.

Main road between Crawley and East Grinstead closed by police
PART of the main road between Crawley and East Grinstead has been closed by police this evening.
It is understood that it is the result of an overhead cable coming down.
The part of A264 which is closed is close to the Esso garage in Copthorne and just before the Dukes Head roundabout.
The road closure was reported to be causing delays earlier in the evening.

Sussex Police seized a Ford Fiesta, at the ASDA supermarket in West Green, after they suspected the driver of being uninsured.
Officers who were on patrol from Crawley Police stopped the 25-year-old man from Copthorne at 5.22pm on Tuesday, February 23 on Pegler Way in West Green.

TRAVEL: Part of A264 now open after crash near Copthorne
SUSSEX Police have re-opened Copthorne Road, on the A264, following a two-vehicle collision.
Officers had cordoned off the westbound carriageway on the A264 towards Crawley after emergency services were called to a two-vehicle collision on the Copthorne Road, Pound Hill, Crawley, at 2.40pm on Monday, March 7.
The road was closed at the Duke's Head roundabout while the incident was dealt with.
Both drivers were treated by ambulance crews and the road re-opened at 4.05pm.

A COPTHORNE man who sold cars which were insurance write-offs to unsuspecting people on sites including Gumtree and Autotrader has been refused permission to appeal against his jail term.
Lucien Munn had applied for permission to appeal his three-year sentence, given to him after he was found guilty of charges under the Fraud Act, Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981 and Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
